Sure thing! 

Leveraging off tech advancement & improved connectivity these days is definitely worth considering when designing, developing & improving your company's safety management system. Particularly given the workforce is very much accustomed (user readiness) to interacting with a multitude of apps via their smart phones etc. so things like digital plant pre-starts make a lot of sense.  

However, technically there's no regulatory compliance requirement to necessitate this action or business expense especially in the first instance.

Likewise, it's highly unlikely that all the Company's management system will be that useful via a singular external digital platform e.g. Company Policies & Standards still need developing & fit-for-purpose ownership by the Company.  

There are too many digital safety platforms to name out there on the market, and many of them are good, however they require an initial investment, ongoing commitment & effort to build what you need (trust me, I've done it!) e.g. most often the products are essentially a 'digital tech shell' in which the business still needs to design / amend the content requirements within to make sure it's bespoke and fit-for-purpose. In addition, it commits you in the longer term to the platforms use (sunk costs) as all the Company's data builds up within the third-party platform.

There are some quite simple solutions as a starting point in which the Company owns & controls their digital approach, which may be more suitable in the first instance. An example I've personally built & recommend, is utilizing parts of the Company's Microsoft 365 environment e.g. SharePoint, Microsoft Forms etc. These things can be used to create the Company WHS landing page (intranet), communicating Alerts & Campaigns, designing Plant Pre-Starts, Hazard & Incident Reporting, and Daily Pre-Start Meeting templates. Essentially almost any other form or checklist for workers to use right off their phones or laptops. 

Cheap, easy, and full ownership within the Company's own system without any external commitment.
